U godini U.C. 0079, trupe Federacije i Zeona se bore u “Sektoru Munje”, zoni prepunoj đubreta sa napuštenih svemirskih kolonija, tako nazvanoj zbog čestih električnih pražnjenja. Fokus priče je na vojniku Federacije Iju Flemingu, i njegovoj borbi sa najboljim Zeonovim snajperistom, Darilom Lorenzom.
